VEEDERSBURG — George Warren, 73-year-old native of Veedersburg, died at noon Sunday at his home in Winterhaven, Fla. He had been ill six months. Mr. Warren had operated a shoe store at Winterhaven until he was forced to retire recently because of ailing health. He was born Oct. 25, 1890, the son of Rev. Pash and Sally Trinkle Warren. He was married to Goldie Snyder of Veedersburg, who survives. Mr. Warren was a member of the Christian Church. He served with the U.S. Army during World War I. He attended high school here and was a 1914 graduate of Wabash College. Survivors include the widow. Funeral services will be conducted at Winterhaven. Burial also will be at Winterhaven. - typed by Walt W.

Winter Haven – The Rev. George Carl Warren, 74, died Sunday at his home, 778 Avenue B Southwest, following a long illness.  A native of Yuma, Colorado, Warren moved here from Veedersburg, Ind in 1919.  He was educated at Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Ind and the Union Theological Seminary, New York City. He was ordained a minister of the Deciples of Christian (Christian) Church and served as Army Chaplin in World War I.  He owned and operated a shoe store here with his later father, Mayor Omar P. Warren and continued the business after his father’s death, retiring in 1959.  He was a member of the First Christian Church and former chaplain of Frierson-Nichols Legion post. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Goldie Snider Warren, Winter Haven. - kz
